A Truly Wild Christmas

There is something rather special about knowing exactly where your Christmas food has come from. For us, that story begins in the woodlands, valleys and rolling countryside of Devon, where our work managing wild deer takes us throughout the seasons.

Responsible deer management is at the heart of everything we do. Every deer is carefully and ethically harvested, then brought back to our own Devon deer larder, where it is handled and prepared by our skilled team of butchers. It is an approach built around respect for the animal, care for our countryside and a belief that exceptional wild food deserves to be enjoyed at its very best.

This Christmas, we have brought together a collection that celebrates just that. From beautifully prepared venison racks, boned and rolled roasting joints and festive stuffed saddles to our indulgent and super limited edition Wild Venison Wellingtons, there are some wonderful alternatives to the traditional Christmas centrepiece.

And there is plenty more to enjoy beyond Christmas Day. Our new Deer in Duvets bring a little wild twist to pigs in blankets, while sweet chilli and caramelised onion venison sausage rolls, comforting game pies, our Venison & Port Pies, rich Wild Game Stock and artisan charcuterie make festive entertaining and those relaxed days between Christmas and New Year all the more delicious.

Everything we do is rooted in provenance, sustainability and a genuine passion for making the very best use of the wild food our countryside provides. Properly sourced, carefully prepared and made for sharing. A truly wild Christmas, from our family to yours.

You can select your preferred available date at checkout. We recommend ordering early, particularly for special edition products made in limited quantities.

Christmas Shop orders can be delivered between Wednesday 2nd December and Wednesday 23rd December 2026. The next available delivery date after Christmas is Wednesday 30th December, in time for New Year’s Eve. Please select your preferred available date at checkout. We recommend choosing a delivery date with some flexibility ahead of your celebrations, as Christmas is a particularly busy time for couriers.

We deliver nationwide using DPD on a next day delivery service, with a two day service to some areas, including the Highlands.

Your order will be carefully packed in insulated WoolCool packaging with ice packs, before being sent directly to your door using our trusted courier service.

All of our products are blast frozen before dispatch. Occasionally they may begin to thaw slightly during transit – this is completely normal. Provided the products arrive cold to the touch, they are safe to place straight back into your freezer on arrival.

Some products, including our venison charcuterie, are ambient and do not require refrigeration, but if ordered alongside frozen products they may be packed together in the same insulated box.

You can also choose Click & Collect at checkout and collect your order directly from us here at our deer larder in Devon by appointment.

Please do not worry if your venison or game arrives partially thawed. Our products are blast frozen before dispatch and travel in insulated WoolCool packaging with ice packs, so some softening during transit is perfectly normal. Provided your products are still cold to the touch when you receive them, they are perfectly safe to put straight back in the freezer.

Absolutely. We know how helpful it is to have your Christmas food organised ahead of time. Pop your frozen products straight into the freezer when your parcel arrives and defrost them in the fridge when you are ready to cook. Even if they have started to thaw slightly in transit, they can be safely refrozen provided they are still cold to the touch on arrival.

We recommend defrosting your venison slowly in the fridge, allowing plenty of time for larger joints or saddles. The time needed will depend on the size of your cut, so please plan ahead. If you are unsure, our team is always happy to advise.

Our wild venison comes from responsible deer management, not intensive farming. It is an exceptional, naturally lean red meat with a wonderful flavour, but just as importantly, you can have confidence in the story behind it. We are involved at every step from the field through to our deer larder, making sure this sustainable wild food is treated with the respect and care it deserves.

Our wild venison comes from our own professional deer management operations and our trusted team of experienced stalkers working across Devon and the South West. Provenance and traceability are fundamental to the way we operate, allowing us to know where our venison has come from and how it has been handled before it reaches our customers.

Because we harvest a truly wild, seasonal product, all our venison and game is sent to customers frozen. We vacuum pack and blast freeze each cut within hours of butchery, capturing it at its absolute best. This rapid freezing locks in the natural, wild flavour and goodness, preserves the tender texture and keeps it just as fresh as the moment it left the field – all without any additives or preservatives.

Freezing also guarantees that your order arrives in perfect condition, giving you plenty of time to enjoy it at your convenience this Christmas!

We strongly believe that freezing is one of the purest and healthiest ways to store food, and it allows us to bring you the finest wild venison all year round.

Absolutely. You can add items from our other venison, game and Veni Deli ranges to your Christmas order, subject to availability. Please note that if your basket contains even one Christmas Shop product, only December delivery dates will be offered at checkout for the entire order. If you need other products delivered before December, please place them in a separate order.

Yes. Choose Click & Collect at checkout where available, and follow the collection details in your confirmation. Collection from our Devon deer larder is by appointment.

Some of our seasonal products, including our Venison Wellingtons and Deer in Duvets are produced in limited batches, and we may not be able to restock them before Christmas. We recommend pre ordering early if there is something you particularly want.
