Our wild venison comes as a result of our carefully planned management of wild deer across the southwest. With deer populations in the UK at a record high, if left unmanaged, numbers would continue to rise with detrimental effect to our beautiful countryside.

We harvest all of our venison with the utmost respect from parkland and wild landscapes; producing traceable ahnd sustainable wild venison of the finest quality, expertly managed by us from the field to your fork.

Our wild venison is arguably the best example of a sustainable and ethically sourced red meat.

Our wild venison is available to purchase all year round, with the main season being from 1st August to the end of April.

Due to the nature of harvesting a wild, seasonal product, at Curtis Pitts Deer Services our quality wild venison and game is sent out to our customers both fresh and frozen.

Freezing our produce at just the right moment, with ice, is nature’s best way of preserving food. It holds in all they key nutrients that our venison and game is jam-packed full of and ensures our produce reaches you perfectly, with plenty of time for you to enjoy it.

We strongly believe freezing to be one of the purest and healthiest ways to store our food. Furthermore, it means you can enjoy our wild venison all year round!

Because we have harvested, processed and packaged our venison & game so carefully, you can also safely re-freeze it.

On the occasion where your Curtis Pitts Deer Services produce arrives frozen or has thawed slightly during transportation, it is perfectly safe to put it straight into your freezer.

Whilst we would not recommend you do this with supermarket meat, this is one of the many benefits of shopping with Curtis Pitts Deer Services!

Our wild deer are harvested for conservation purposes and with the utmost respect. Once one of our team of expert stalkers have carefully selected an animal to be culled, they are cleanly shot in the wild ensuring an ethical, stress-free death.

We follow the most rigorous of routines after harvesting each and every one of our carcass’ in the wild. There is no exception to this rule, and we strongly believe this sets our produce apart from others. The quality of our venison is unbeatable and the provenance story is highly sought-after in the finest professional kitchens.

Our Venison carcass’ are hung in the fur in our bespoke chiller for up to two weeks before being skinned. This allows the meat to become tender and the delicious flavour to be drawn out, without becoming overly gamey. We also have the ability to age whole carcass’ and prime cuts to individual chefs’ specification.

Due to the incredible care, skill and attention to detail of our team in harvesting and producing the finest quality venison, you will find only the best taste, texture and flavour in our produce.

Wild venison is not only higher in protein than most farmed meats, but lower in cholesterol and fat too. It’s also packed full of iron and B vitamins, helping the body convert food into energy, and rich in conjugated linoleic acid which is thought to support a healthy heart.

Our deer are harvested from wild landscapes, where they are free to eat a wide and varied diet. Cherry picking their daily meals from the abundance of seasonal forage found in the hedgerows and on the land allows a depth of flavour to develop like no other, thus setting venison apart from other red meats.

All our produce is vacuum packed in an outer wrap ensuring freshness and ready for it to be safely stored in the fridge or freezer. Our produce can be kept in the freezer for at least 6 months. Each pack will give details of the product, best before date and any ingredients.

Our outer packaging is designed to keep your produce cool and tasting its best for a minimum of 2 days whilst in transit for delivery.

We offer delivery to mainland UK postcodes on Wednesdays and Fridays using a next day service. Delivery to the Highlands, Islands and Northern Ireland is available every Thursday using a two-day service.

Our parcel courier DPD have a commitment to make every parcel delivered to you carbon neutral. They are working towards decarbonising the DPD fleet by improving the efficiency of their transport network, increased use of alternative fuel vehicles and innovative strategies to reduce parcel miles.
